\u201cI never would have guessed, growing up in the US, that I would eventually immigrate to the Netherlands and manage one of the fastest growing fintech\u2019s in Amsterdam.<\/span><\/p>\n The road to Amsterdam was quite long after living in Eastern Europe and Africa, traveling to more than 70 countries, and participating in building 21 technology companies around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n After starting Factris nearly 4 years ago, I often wonder why I did not get involved in the Dutch tech sector earlier. The Netherlands has a great tech ecosystem with a lot of dynamic entrepreneurs innovating in many fields that I am happy we are playing our small part to continue developing.\u201d says Brian.<\/span><\/p>\n In order not to violate the first rule of Factris, we take our time to introduce the best practices. I like to think we are the ultimate meritocracy, with a great environment in which people can succeed in their personal and professional lives. Thankfully we can recruit the best people from literally anywhere in the world and as such we have more than 20 nationalities in Factris, adding to the vibrant environment of an aspiring pan-European company.\u201d Brian sees his role as that of a mentor supporting a winning team. He avoids micromanagement but provides guidance and direction. This philosophy works well with driven over achievers that they need to succeed.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span>\u201cNow, Factris is well established, and we are pushing into new countries. The demands on my time and the team are evolving as we continue a quick but measured expansion, absorbing new markets with their unique attributes. After all, we are in the money business, and it is what you don\u2019t know that can really hurt you.
