Loan capital

What is loan capital?

Loan capital is a financial term that refers to the debts a company has to external parties, such as banks, creditors, and bondholders. These are liabilities for which the company has to pay interest and/or make repayments to creditors. Loan capital is contrasted with equity, which refers to the investments made by the company’s owners.
